Short & sweet: Five minutes with Rihanna's Boss Hair Stylist MISS URSULA BETTA WORKKKK!

For the past two years, pictures of Rihanna's haircut in all its short, spiky glory have been torn out of magazines and toted into salons the world over by women with three simple words for their stylists: "I want that." The woman responsible for the Barbados-born beauty's unique 'do is the also- adorably-coiffed Ursula Stephen, a celebrity hairstylist who works with Mary J. Blige, Paula Patton and Michelle Williams. We spoke to her about Rihanna, the W shoot and the cut that launched a thousand copies.

How long have you been working with Rihanna?
For about the last three years—we met on the "Unfaithful" video. Now I'm with her almost all the time because she's very, very busy. I do her for everything—awards, personal, magazines, shows.

We hear you had a busy week leading up to the W shoot in New York.
We had just flown in from Paris or London, and we were leaving the next day. But it was the most laid-back magazine shoot we've ever done—we even started kind of late. Ri loved the hair, all the clothes, it was just really cool.

Tell us about her hair on the cover, which is a kind of side swept pageboy look.
It's really clean, modern, not too funky, not too spiky. She's worn her hair like that before, but never with that blonde color.

And what about the—dare we say it—fauxhawk?
That was definitely inspired by the reference pictures of the work of artist Patrick Nagel (above). And everyone knows she always wears her hair up and crazy like that. I basically did it with my eyes closed and it came out really cute. I always try to leave a little length on top of her hair because that's where you get the versatility from.

You have a very cute updated bowl hairstyle yourself. Were you the inspiration for the cut?
Yeah I would say so. She would be like 'Your hair is so cute, why don't you try that on me?' I was a little hesitant at first but when she got it it was like second skin for her.

What's it been like to see copies on all different types of women?
I see people all the time—some girls will be walking around all confident and they look all crazy, and then sometimes they look really good and I'm even more inspired by how they get it done.

From hip-hop cutie to edgy fashion icon, W traces the evolution of Rihanna's style.

Couture Nails From Japan Nail Expo
Remember when gel acrylic overlays with an airbrushed pattern were very necessary? (Or maybe that's just in my hood.) Well, if you thought your sparkle dusted, crystal studded six inch talons were saying something - think again. The Tokyo Nail Expo, which took place earlier this month, showed us all what a nail job really looks like. Apparently, sparkles and flowers won't cut it. The ladies who showed up with outrageous nail art took it to the next level with manicures that incorporated plastic bows and arrows, mini Hello Kitty dolls and melting ice cream cones. See these spectacular creations after the jump!

FASHION DONTS!

Really do i need to say more....who wants to look at this ....its puke wrong!

EVERYONE PLEASE DO NOT WEAR…To Work!

1. Gym Clothes
Sweats, shorts, and tennis shoes have their place, but it usually isn’t at work — unless, of course, you work at a gym or in the fitness industry.

2. Club Clothes
Sequins, sparkles, and other cocktail attire all qualifies as after-five apparel. So don’t wear them to your day job — EVEN if you’ll be hitting the club scene after hours.

3. Plunging Necklines
Ever try to hold an intelligent conversation with a man when you’re wearing a plunging neckline? You can’t – he’s too busy sneaking peeks at your cleavage. Which is why, if you want to be taken seriously in business, you should not wear revealing necklines to work.

4. Midriff Tops
Unless you work as a belly dancer, no one at work should see your navel. Keep your belly covered and focus attention elsewhere – like to your talents, brains, and savvy.

5. Super Low Rise Pants
Like midriff tops, super low rise pants show too much skin and create a distraction. Opt for more modest styles to be taken more seriously at work.

6. Micro Minis
Since it’s all about covering up for credibility, you need to save your micro minis for after hours — unless, of course, you work as a cheerleader for a professional sports team.

7. Flip Flops
Flip-flops. Don’t burn rubber all over the place. Those comfy rubber thongs that give our feet a vacation just don’t set the right vibe at the office. Flip flops are cute, fun, easy-to-wear, and the best-selling footwear on the planet. But unless you work on the beach or as a lifeguard, they’re way too casual for work. Let’s keep it real, some people need to keep those feet covered.

8. Stiletto Heels
Bare legs and stiletto heels spell seduction, not serious business. Think they’re sexy? You’re right, they are — which makes them perfect for after hours, but completely inappropriate for work.

9. Slogan T-shirts
Love rock-and-roll, Elvis, or your neighborhood insurance company? Then say it with words, not on a t-shirt you wear to work. Not only are slogan t-shirts way too casual for the average office, their message often distracts from the business at hand.

10. Piercings In Odd Places

Nough said.
11. Jeans with holes all over
It’s not right for the office (even a casual one). Needless to say, holes and low-rise styles that reveal your underwear can leave everyone saying “Holy Cow”.

12. Don’t Go Logo Crazy
You want your busy boss to remember your name, not the name printed all over every inch of your body.

GUYS PLEASE DON’T…

Rock Leather Pants
Wearing leather to work will earn you compliments and credits — as long as it’s in the form of shoes, belts, and jackets. Leather pants, on the other hand, just make you look like a Mick Jagger wannabe (or worse yet, a gigolo). And that kind of bad judgement can make it hard for colleagues to trust you on joint projects.

Wear Jeans with holes all over
It’s not right for the office (even a casual one). Needless to say, holes and low-rise styles that reveal your underwear can leave everyone saying “Holy Cow”.

No Cowboy Boots whatsoever
Cowboy boots (along with cowboy hats) aren’t office attire. Under the right circumstances, these can be super sexy on a guy, but when you’re striking a professional pose, these won’t take you very far.

AND WHY DO I NEED TO SPEAK ON THE PANTS BELOW THE KNEES!
